Boston Celtics Owner Wyc Grousbeck and Forbes Editor Randall Lane to Discuss “All Things Celtics” at Fund for Sandwich Fundraiser in February

The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation has announced that Wyc Grousbeck, entrepreneur and co-owner of the Boston Celtics, will speak in Sandwich on Monday, February 4, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at the historic Sandwich Glass Museum.  Randall Lane, Editor of Forbes Magazine and Chief Content Officer of Forbes Media, will interview him.

Grousbeck and Lane will cover a wide range of topics, including “All Things Celtics.” Those attending will have the chance to meet and question the two national opinion leaders and tour The Sandwich Glass Museum.

All funds raised at this event will benefit The Fund for Sandwich, which supports the vitality of those who live in the Town of Sandwich, Massachusetts.

One of the most popular NBA team owners, Wycliffe “Wyc” Grousbeck is the Managing Partner, CEO and Governor of the Celtics. He was a founding partner of Boston Basketball Partners, LLC, that bought the Celtics for $360 million in 2002. Today the Celtics team is valued at over $2 billion.

Born in Worcester, Grousbeck earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton, a law degree from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Stanford. At Princeton, he rowed on the undefeated lightweight crew team that won the national championship. His business experience includes years at venture capital firms, both in California and Massachusetts.

Both Grousbeck and Lane have been involved in philanthropy. Grousbeck serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Eye and Ear; he is also involved with other charities. Lane pioneered the Forbes 400 Summit on Philanthropy and is a global board member of Global Citizen.  He is also the author of You Only Have to Be Right Once: The Unprecedented Rise of the Instant Tech Billionaires.

The Fund for Sandwich promotes the vitality of the oldest town on Cape Cod by supporting the educational, cultural, conservation, and human needs of those who live in Sandwich.  It encourages community philanthropy and collaboration, raises charitable contributions, and engages in informed, responsive grantmaking to nonprofit organizations that serve its residents.

The Sandwich Glass Museum, located at 129 Main Street in Sandwich, is one of Cape Cod’s top tourist attractions. It preserves Sandwich’s 19th century glass production history and presents contemporary displays.
