The Cape Cod Foundation Announces Partnership on the Cape Cod Women’s Association Scholarship Fund

The Cape Cod Foundation has recently been selected to administer the Cape Cod Women’s Association (CCWA) Scholarship Fund.

The CCWA established the fund to support adult women who are pursuing higher education, training in a new profession, or taking courses to develop their professional lives on Cape Cod. This year, the Fund will award a total of $3,000.

Applicants must be women (age 21+) who reside on Cape Cod and plan to enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses, certificate programs, professional leadership courses or other educational programs that will help them advance their careers.

After the local chapter of the American Business Women’s Association voted to disband earlier this year, former members formed the nonprofit Cape Cod Women’s Association in March 2017. CCWA President Jane Bourette said the organization’s mission is to bring together women to build relationships professionally and personally whether members are in business or transition.

“We wanted to create an organization that met the needs of a very diverse group,” said Bourette. “CCWA offers a network of support with social, leadership and educational opportunities. Our scholarship program is a powerful way we can make a significant impact in women’s lives.”

“We’re honored to be part of the CCWA’s legacy,” says Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation.  “Each year the Foundation awards more than $420,000 in scholarships. While most help recent high school graduates start or continue their higher education, we have several, like the CCWA Fund, that help adult learners realize their dreams.”

The application process is entirely online at capecodfoundation.org. Applications must be submitted by midnight on April 1, 2018. Scholarship recipients will be notified in late spring.
