Cape Cod Foundation Promotes Dara Gannon

The Cape Cod Foundation has promoted Dara Gannon to the position of Director of Programs and Donor Services. Gannon has served as the organization’s Program Officer since 2013; she assumed her new role earlier this year.

“We are so pleased to be able to recognize Dara’s strong contributions to The Cape Cod Foundation and the Cape Cod community with this promotion,” said Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of the Foundation. “She is an integral member of our team, and we look forward to continuing to foster her professional growth while simultaneously enhancing our services to our donors and the community.”

Gannon is currently responsible for managing the Foundation’s grant program and serving as a resource and liaison for fund holders and donors. She oversees the scholarship program for the Foundation and its supporting organization, Cape Cod Association, and is actively involved with the Foundation’s civic leadership work. The Foundation’s Cape-wide Youth Action Plan and CONNECT Cape Cod initiatives fall under her leadership.

Gannon’s community involvement is extensive. She is currently the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Cape Cod Young Professionals and serves on the Board of the Cape Cod Technology Council. She is a member of the Workforce Investment Board Youth Council and will serve her second term as Co-Chair of Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod this year. Gannon is a past graduate of the Community Leadership Institute of Cape Cod & the Islands, and was named one of “40 Under 40” leaders by Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine in 2014.

Gannon, originally from Chicago, received a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado. In 2011, she came to the Cape with plans to spend the summer on the beach.  By the end of the season, she realized she didn’t want to leave. Dara lives in Dennis with her husband and their three dogs.
