THE CHATHAM FUND ANNOUNCES GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

The Chatham Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation is now accepting applications for grants from nonprofit organizations serving the town. The application process is entirely online at capecodfoundation.org. The deadline is October 15.

While the Fund’s Advisory Committee will consider funding proposals for all types of projects and programs that support Chatham residents, it gives priority to those that address one or more of the following: hunger, children’s needs, the environment, and other social needs, including, but not limited to, housing, healthy-aging, transportation, and economic security.

This is the Fund’s fifth year of grantmaking. Last year, it awarded $27,000 to ten local nonprofit organizations.  To date, it has awarded more than $60,000 in grants to nonprofits serving the Chatham community.

Two other Cape towns have Town Funds with The Cape Cod Foundation. The Falmouth Fund is in its 9th year of grantmaking. The Fund for Sandwich will award its inaugural grants in November.

“Town Funds are a unique way for residents to power up the nonprofits serving their communities,” said Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation.  “By pooling and investing donations into a Town Fund, you not only generate a large amount of revenue for grantmaking every year. You also help create a permanent, growing endowment to support the community for the long-term.”

Anyone interested in donating to a specific Town Fund can call 508.790.3040 or donate online at capecodfoundation.org.
