Foundation Celebrates 25th Anniversary, Debuts New Video

On Tuesday September 9, 2014, Cape Cod Foundation Board and staff had the pleasure of being joined at the Sea View in Dennisport by more than 130 supporters and friends to celebrate The Cape Cod Foundation’s 25th anniversary. Highlights of the event included a special presentation by John Conathan, former Foundation Director and Board Chairman, to James Rice and William Snow, two of the original six founders of The Cape Cod Foundation and a keynote speech by Hank Holden, the Foundation’s Vice Chairman, which unveiled the Foundation’s strategic path for the next 25 years.

Board Chairman and President Eileen Miskell surprised three local nonprofit organizations with general operating support grants of $5,000 each. Five surprise grants in five different topic areas are being awarded by the Foundation’s Board of Directors this year in honor of the Foundation’s anniversary due to a generous bequest that the Foundation received in 2013. The recipients of the first three grants received their awards at the celebration: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cape and Islands (Child and Youth Wellness); The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts (Environment); and The Cultural Center of Cape Cod (Arts and Culture). The remaining two grants will be awarded later in 2014.

We were also very excited to debut our new video, which helps tell the Foundation story and shows our role in the community.

For 25 years we have had the distinct pleasure of working with amazing members of this community who share a common vision of keeping Cape Cod the best place in the world to live. Special thanks to our founders, past and current Board, staff, and volunteers who have helped build this organization into what it is today. We look forward to continued opportunities to strengthen and enrich our community and are honored to be a partner in this work.
