The Fund for Sandwich to Announce Inaugural Grant Recipients at Upcoming Community Event

The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation will announce its inaugural grant recipients at a free community event on Sunday, November 12 at 4:00 pm at the Sandwich Town Hall.

Eleven organizations submitted proposal for projects and programs serving the Town of Sandwich.  The Fund’s Advisory committee will award up to $500 to each of the finalists chosen.

The community event features Jeanne Grady Prendergast, who will perform selections from the Great American Songbook. The classically-trained soprano (and Sandwich resident) has appeared in “Moms on Broadway” at the Cotuit Center for the Arts and performed with the Cape Cod Chorale, Cape Cod Opera, and Eventide Arts. Marge Dolby will accompany her on piano.  The retired music educator has been the accompanist for many Cape productions including the Glasstown Players, the Sandwich Town Hall Radio Shows, and Sandwich’s own Jane Ellis.

A group of residents established The Fund for Sandwich at the Foundation in 2015 to build a permanent endowment for the town through private donations and to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that improve and enhance the quality of life in the community.  The Fund’s Advisory Committee includes Dr. Madeleine Wing Adler, President Emerita of West Chester University of Pennsylvania; Paul Houlihan, Nonprofit Consultant; Paula Johnson, Executive Director Sandwich Community TV/WSDH 91.5 FM; and Thomas Rockwell, partner in the Private Client Department at Nutter, McClennen & Fish.

Attendees can make a free-will donation to The Fund for Sandwich at the event.
