How to Use and Order Understanding Cape Cod
(See order form below)

In 2006, the Cape Cod Foundation began to research and discuss some of our region’s most important issues, through a series of Community Listening Circles with residents and community leaders. In 2008, we continued the process by working with field experts, local funders, and others to gather more feedback and the latest data, and assembled an assessment report that became the 24-page document Understanding Cape Cod.

This year, as we mark our 20th anniversary, the Foundation is stepping into a larger role as a civic leader, recommitting ourselves to strengthening our community to embrace the next 20 years and beyond. Please consider what role you can take in the process!

Ideas for getting the most from Understanding Cape Cod:

  • Read and reflect on your own.
  • Study and discuss with your family.
  • Share it with your book club and discuss the issues that are most meaningful to you.
  • Create a reading group in your club or civic association and discuss the topics most relevant to your group.
  • Use as a teaching tool in the classroom.

Take it to the next step:

  • Go to the Source: Learn more about the issues covered in Understanding Cape Cod by going directly to the sources cited in the report and other local agencies.
  • Talk it Up: Discuss the issues with others and think about how you can organize for the greatest impact.
  • Get Involved: Become a volunteer.
  • Give Locally: Make a donation to a group that works on an issue you’re interested in.
  • Get Connected: Contact the Cape Cod Foundation to learn more about Community Forums on specific issues and other ways to use the report.
  • Make the Call: Email or call the Foundation to see how easy it is to support causes you care about – by starting a fund, making a donation, volunteering, or giving us feedback – and know that you’re doing your part to strengthen our community!
