MARCH 2020: $10,000 FOR IMMEDIATE RELIEF
The Cape Cod Foundation invested $5,000 in the Cape Cod and Islands Major Crisis Relief Fund, a program of the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, and $5,000 in Cape and Islands United Way to provide direct support to Cape Cod and Island residents and nonprofit organizations whose clients are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.
The Cape Cod Foundation is working with nonprofits to release them from restrictions on previously awarded grants if needed.
We will release regular distributions from other discretionary fund earlier than scheduled.
We are sharing information about community needs with our donor-advised fundholders and other funding partners to expand opportunities to leverage resources and fill unmet needs.
SUPPORT OUR PARTNERS WHO ARE PROVIDING IMMEDIATE RELIEF
The Cape & Islands Major Crisis Relief Fund (MCRF) provides financial relief in the wake of a disaster. Established in 2016 by the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, MCRF provides Cape Cod and Islands residents immediate and ongoing support for needs unmet by traditional forms of public and private disaster aid, in this case, caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Cape and Islands United Way Community Response Fund will go directly to local organizations working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.
DIRECT SUPPORT TO NONPROFITS: We also encourage you to give directly to your favorite nonprofit organizations during this difficult time and to strongly consider general, unrestricted support.
