Mary Beth Burwood, Education Program Officer

Mary Beth joined The Cape Cod Foundation as its Scholarship Officer in 2020 and was appointed Education Program Officer in September 2023. In this newly-created position, she will work to advance the Foundation’s scholarship program, education-related grantmaking, and donor stewardship activities. She will also focus on building productive working relationships with guidance counselors and other school personnel, nonprofits, donors, and volunteers. This new position is designed to create greater alignment and integration of scholarship and grant activities. Mary Beth will continue to serve as key contact and relationship manager for the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund Holders and our partner, the Cape Cod Association.

Mary Beth grew up in Chelmsford, MA, and spent many summer days on Cape Cod. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from UMass Lowell. She has worked for several nonprofit organizations, focusing on education, volunteer programs, and fundraising initiatives. Prior to joining the team, she served as the Assistant Director of Regional Programs in the Office of Alumni and Donor Relations Office at UMass Lowell.

She currently lives in Sandwich with her husband, two children, and dog. Outside of work, she enjoys running, biking, and spending time outdoors.
