Middle school or high school teachers are eligible to develop a grant proposal for an action civics project that will enhance or expand civics education for students. Some examples include: field trip money, entrance fees for students, consultant fees for leadership development for students, fees for a special program for students, a professional development experience for teachers that will help them offer action civics curriculum.

The goal of this program is to expand access to all students to active and meaningful opportunities to engage in the civic process. Expanding access can be supported by integration of civic learning opportunities in a variety of courses.
