Cape Cod Foundation Awards $10K to Support Entrepreneurial Partnership

The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 joint grant to EforAll Cape Cod and Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) to support their ongoing partnership to strengthen the local economy and workforce through entrepreneurship.

“When nonprofit organizations form strategic alliances, they can have a greater impact in the community,” said Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation.  “In this case, both organizations have missions that align and complement each other; joining forces and sharing infrastructure, networks, and resources will propel both organizations forward to their common goal.”

EforAll, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit, introduced its innovative small business/nonprofit accelerator program to Cape Cod in 2018. The program provides educational, mentoring, networking, and investment opportunities to aspiring and current entrepreneurs. Since its founding, the organization has facilitated the launch of 349 startups, which collectively have created 626 jobs and generated over $18,000,000 in revenue.

CCYP was founded in 2006 to connect, engage, and advance the next generation of Cape Cod’s workforce and community leaders through networking events, career development opportunities, civic engagement, and advocacy for policies.  Its ability to recruit and support participants and volunteers and market the EforAll program through established channels provides wrap-around support for the venture.

“As a community funder, this partnership checked many boxes,” O’Malley added.  “Workforce and economic development are critical to the Cape. Creating opportunities for younger workers is especially needed here.  The Foundation is also supportive of programs that include a mentorship component because working together builds stronger communities.”

O’Malley said that, because of the importance of collaboration among nonprofit organizations, the Foundation earmarks discretionary funds for partnerships that can drive social change.

“The quick launch and early success of the EforAll program through its partnership with CCYP is encouraging and inspiring. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish together next.  We will all benefit from their collaborative spirit,” O’Malley added.
