The Cape Cod Foundation Hires Program Assistant and Marketing and Communications Officer

The Cape Cod Foundation announced today the hiring of Carrie Thornburg-Bearse as Program Assistant and Sara Cushing as Marketing and Communications Officer.

Carrie

Carrie Thornburg-Bearse has joined the staff of The Cape Cod Foundation as Program Assistant. She will be providing support for the Foundation’s scholarship, grant making and program functions and is responsible for supporting the coordination of the Scholarship program for both The Cape Cod Foundation and the Cape Cod Association. Originally from central Illinois, Ms. Thornburg-Bearse has been on the Cape for twenty-five years. She holds a B.S in Marketing from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A from Cornell University. Her early career was in development for an independent school and a public-private partnership service organization in New York City. “After taking time off to raise my two boys and work part-time as a Library Assistant with Barnstable Public Schools, I am thrilled to be back in the philanthropic world,” said Ms. Bearse.

Sara

Sara Cushing has joined as The Cape Cod Foundation’s Marketing and Communications Officer. Ms. Cushing will work closely with Executive Director Kristin O’Malley to develop and implement a strategic marketing communications plan and key Foundation events.  She brings more than 14 years of marketing and sales experience to the position and holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Georgia and an M.S in Health Communication from Tufts University School of Medicine. “I am thrilled to be a part of an organization so committed to our community. The good work of The Cape Cod Foundation is nothing short of inspirational, and I am honored to be a part of their team,” said Ms. Cushing.

“We are excited to have new talent added to our small and mighty team. Both Carrie and Sara bring a wealth of knowledge and commitment to the Cape Cod community that will be great assets as we continue to grow our endowments and efforts for the people of Cape Cod,” said Ms. O’Malley.
