Cape Youth Force Accepting Grant Proposals
The Cape Youth Force is accepting grant proposals from nonprofit public charities, public schools, and municipal programs that aim to benefit youth on Cape Cod. Applications will be accepted online, and the 2015 deadline to apply is midnight on Wednesday, April 1.
The Cape Youth Force is a committee of high school students that work to make the community a better place by supporting projects that positively affect youth on Cape Cod. This year, the Cape Youth Force Committee is composed of students at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Cape Youth Force is a program of The Cape Cod Foundation and Barnstable County UMass Extension/4H. This program was originally started with funding from Massachusetts Environmental Trust, and now is funded by local contributions and the Community Fund for Young People & the Fund for Youth Activities, both funds of The Cape Cod Foundation. To date, Cape Youth Force has awarded over $33,000 to local organizations.
The Cape Youth Force will distribute grants to schools, after-school programs, and any youth serving organization or group that works with children, youth, and families on Cape Cod. For 2015, preference will be given to proposals that serve Dennis and Yarmouth students and/or involve youth in project planning and implementation.
Cape Youth Force students will evaluate the proposals and make recommendations on funding, which will be presented to The Cape Cod Foundation Board of Directors. The link to the online grant application can be found at www.capecodfoundation.org under Receive, Current Grants.
