CCYP Giving Circle Awards Proactive Grants to Local Nonprofits Supporting Young Working Adults

SOUTH YARMOUTH—The Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) Giving Circle recently awarded a total of $3,000 in grants to three local nonprofits supporting the needs of young working adults in the community.

“Without doubt, young professionals, especially those with families, have been hit especially hard during the pandemic,” said CCYP Chief Executive Officer Lauren Barker. “To help support those experiencing job loss, reduced hours/wages, increased childcare costs, housing problems, and other legal and financial issues, we decided to make proactive grants outside of our annual grant cycle to three organizations working to meet current needs.”

The recipients are:

Cape Cod Children’s Place, $1,000
To provide scholarships to subsidize early education and childcare for working families

WE CAN, $1,000
To support mentoring programs, personal development workshops, and legal, financial and work support services for young professionals

Housing Assistance Corporation, $1,000
To provide education and housing support to members of the workforce

The Giving Circle Grant Program was launched in 2015 in partnership with The Cape Cod Foundation to expand CCYP’s community impact. As part of its annual grant cycle, it funds initiatives that address key needs for young professionals age 45-and-under on Cape Cod. Since its inception, the Giving Circle has awarded a total of $36,000 in grants to local nonprofits while also supporting CCYP’s ongoing efforts to connect, engage, and advance young professionals on Cape Cod.
