What We Invest In: Nonprofit Success

The Cape Cod Foundation administers more than 330 funds, including charitable funds for individual donors and its own discretionary funds for strategic grantmaking. In 2024, we distributed a total of $6,567,067 in grants and scholarships among the categories listed at right.  View a list of all grant recipients here.

The Foundation offers several Competitive Grantmaking Programs to support programs and capacity-building initiatives throughout the region’s nonprofit sector. Learn more about our discretionary grantmaking through the links below.

We also invest in nonprofit leadership development opportunities and resources, like technical support and peer learning, that help ensure Nonprofit Success.

Competitive Grantmaking Programs

Our core grantmaking program focuses on nonprofit capacity-building. It is designed to support strong nonprofits that are at a point of critical growth by strengthening the organizations’ core systems, skills, resources, knowledge, operation, and management practices to achieve its mission and build long-term sustainability. Our Open Door Grant Program gives us the opportunity to partner with newer or less well-funded nonprofits, while our Flexible Funding Program is designed to help nonprofits experiencing recent changes in funding.  The Women and Girls Fund supports nonprofits serving women and girls across the region. Nonprofit Leadership Development

Our nonprofit leaders take on our community’s biggest challenges and work for the greater good. While they are highly skilled, they need resources to develop those skills and a powerful network of support.  Among other initiatives implemented, the Foundation has facilitated a partnership with the Institute for Nonprofit Practice to bring its award-winning Core Certificate Program to Cape Cod and the Islands. To date, 140 local leaders have participated in this intensive, year-long program. LEARN MORE
