The Cape Cod Foundation Offers 90 Scholarships For Many Educational Paths

South Yarmouth—The Cape Cod Foundation’s annual scholarship application process has begun. Last year, the Foundation awarded more than $900,000 in scholarship support to local students. The organization administers 90 different scholarship funds for seniors graduating from high school, current college students, and adults planning to pursue degrees, complete certificate programs, or take professional development courses

The deadline for most scholarships is April 1. Applicants can view an application tutorial and download the Foundation’s Scholarship Information Booklet with complete criteria, deadlines, and application requirements for each scholarship online at capecodfoundation.org.

Individual donors established two new scholarships for 2023, bringing $8,500 more in potential awards to local students.

DANIEL K. MESERVEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel K. Meservey to support graduating seniors of Monomoy Regional High School and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School who demonstrate academic promise, have financial need, and are planning to pursue a 2- or 4-year degree. Meservey, a native Cape Codder, family man, successful business owner, race car driver, and former selectman valued hard work, dedication, and perseverance and was particularly concerned about opportunities for future generations.

LARRY MARSLAND SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE ARTS
Graduating high school seniors and current or returning college students from the Lower or Outer Cape who are pursuing a degree in the Arts are eligible for this scholarship. It was created to honor Larry Marsland for his long-time leadership of the Lower Cape Outreach Council in Orleans. The former CEO of the Council is also a singer, actor, and playwright.

The scholarship process for the Cape Cod Association, a partner of The Cape Cod Foundation, has also begun. Last year, it awarded $552,000 in heritage-based scholarships to 309 students. Criteria, deadlines, and application requirements for these scholarships are online at capecodassoc.org.
