The Cape Cod Foundation to Present a Virtual Community Forum on Supporting Women and Girls Across Cape Cod

SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Cape Cod Foundation will present a virtual community forum, “Women and Girls Across Cape Cod,” on Thursday, September 29, from 9-10:30 am. It is part of a free series of forums which began in 2021 to share information about the region’s current needs, resources, and opportunities for community engagement with a larger audience.

“Less than 2% of all charitable giving in the United States is directed specifically to nonprofits serving women and girls,” said Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation. “Across the country—and here on the Cape— inequities in pay and job opportunities are still great. Unemployment rates and the barriers to affordable housing and childcare are incredibly high. The challenges faced by women and girls of color persist.”

O’Malley said the forum will focus on the needs of women and girls and how the Cape Cod community is responding to these needs.

“We’ll also discuss an exciting new initiative to help deepen our community investment in women and girls and to amplify our collective impact,” O’Malley added.
