The Cape Cod Foundation & Cape Cod Young Professionals Announce Opportunity for Giving Circle Fund Grants

The Cape Cod Foundation and Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) are pleased to announce an opportunity for grants through the CCYP Giving Circle. The application process is entirely online, and proposals must be received by midnight on Friday, April 29, 2016.

Launched in 2015 in partnership with The Cape Cod Foundation, the CCYP Giving Circle is a philanthropic initiative that engages CCYP members to support programs and projects that advance the lives of young professionals on Cape Cod.

Funding guidelines align with the specific community action items identified through the Shape the Cape survey intended to improve the retention and recruitment of young professionals and their families on Cape Cod.  Grant awards will range between $500 and $2,500 and will be announced in June. Ten thousand dollars has been allocated in 2016 to fund initiatives focusing on:

1) Career Development – programs and projects that that offer job training, professional mentoring, professional development, job or internship placements or entrepreneurial business development;

2) Access to Housing – programs and projects that promote increased access to year-round rental housing, first-time homeownership and creative housing solutions for the Cape’s year round workforce;

3) Civic Engagement – programs and projects designed to engage young professionals in volunteerism and board service with local nonprofit organizations, civic participation in town committees or workgroups or elected office. Only non-partisan projects will be considered.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Cape Cod Young Professionals on administering this grantmaking program that will impact many in our community,” said Kristin O’Malley, Executive Director of The Cape Cod Foundation. “These grants provide a unique opportunity for organizations to reach young professionals across the Cape and implement meaningful programming for them.”

“The establishment of this fund will allow our members to engage philanthropically in an impactful way by leveraging collective resources. It is an exciting opportunity as CCYP celebrates its 10th anniversary as an organization,” stated Anne Van Vleck, Executive Director of CCYP. “We are thrilled to partner with The Cape Cod Foundation to access their expertise in informed grantmaking and community-based work.”
