The Falmouth Fund Distributes More Than $40,000 to Support Local Nonprofit Organizations

The Falmouth Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation has distributed $42,500 to five local nonprofit organizations that are addressing basic human needs, including food, healthcare, and housing for diverse, vulnerable populations that have been impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis.

“We are most grateful to our generous donors who have supported The Falmouth Fund’s new fundraising initiative to respond to the pandemic,” said Sharon Nunes, Chair of The Falmouth Fund. She added that the Fund made its first grant of $10,000 in April to The Falmouth Service Center to support the significant increase in demand for its food and financial assistance programs.

Grants were awarded to the following organizations in August to help them meet priority needs imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation said that The Falmouth Fund is demonstrating the impact and power of a community-based Town Fund. “Their ability to respond to emergent needs during challenging times and continue long-term investment in the community is both important and inspiring,” she said.

Since 2010, The Falmouth Fund has invested over $718,000 back into the Falmouth community. The Fund supports local nonprofits that positively impact Falmouth in key areas: health and human services; education, youth and recreation; arts and culture; and the environment.
