The Falmouth Fund: Eileen Miskell, Founding Chair

Eileen Miskell, Founding Chair

Eileen Miskell was one of the driving forces behind the creation of The Falmouth Fund in 2009. She served as the Chair of its Advisory Committee through 2017. Under her leadership, the endowment fund grew to $1.4 million and awarded over $360,000 in grants to more than 70 local nonprofit organizations serving the town of Falmouth. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Independent Bancorp (Rockland Trust) and the Town of Falmouth Finance Committee. She is a volunteer in the Falmouth Volunteers in Public School program (VIPs) and is co-chair of the Leadership Cabinet of the Don & Dottie Smith YMCA, a new Y facility scheduled to begin construction in the Fall of 2025. She has served as Treasurer, Chairman, and President of The Cape Cod Foundation’s Board, and has held leadership positions on the boards of the Falmouth Public Library Foundation and Falmouth Academy.

She and her husband, Dana, have two adult children and live in Falmouth. They ran their family-owned business, the Wood Lumber Company, for 33 years before retiring in 2019. Since 2015, Eileen has been a partner in Eight Cousins Bookstore in Falmouth.
