The Fund for Sandwich Accepting Grants Proposals

SOUTH YARMOUTH—The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation is now accepting grant proposals from nonprofit organizations providing direct services to residents of Sandwich.

The short grant application process is entirely online at capecodfoundation.org. Grants are typically between $500 and $1,000. Proposals must be submitted by noon on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. The recipients will be announced in early October.

The Fund will consider a wide range of proposals across many fields, including health, human services, youth and aging services, education, the environment, and the arts.

“During these difficult times, we are especially interested in proposals that impact the neediest residents in town and those that provide creative solutions to problems,” said Dr. Madeleine Wing Adler, member of the Advisory Committee.

This is the fourth year of The Fund for Sandwich annual grantmaking program; it has distributed $8,907 over the last three years. In March, it also began to actively fundraise to support local nonprofits responding to the needs of residents impacted by the pandemic and has awarded $13,000 in COVID-19 related grants to seven nonprofit organizations to date.

A group of residents established The Fund for Sandwich at the Foundation in 2015 to build a permanent endowment for the town through private donations and to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that serve the community. It is one of four town funds affiliated with The Cape Cod Foundation.
