The Fund for Sandwich Awards $7,000 in Grants to Eight Nonprofits Serving the Community

SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $7,000 in grants to eight nonprofit organizations serving the community.

“While the Fund supports initiatives that address a wide range of programs that improve the quality of life for those who live and work in Sandwich, during this grant cycle, we prioritized proposals that particularly address the needs of at-risk populations,” said Dr. Madeleine Adler, Advisory Committee Chair.

This year’s recipients are:

Alzheimer’s Family Caregiver Support Center, $500
To support free Alzheimer’s/dementia support groups for Sandwich residents

Amazing Grace $1,500
To provide one Sandwich youth access to the nonprofit’s annual programming

Cape Kid Meals
To support the Weekend Backpack Food program in Sandwich schools

Community Health Center of Cape Cod, $1000
To support translation services for CHC patients from Sandwich

Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, $1000
To support the Meals on Wheels program for Sandwich residents

JT Chronicles, $800
To support “Step up Now,” a motivational program that brings professionals from non-traditional fields to meet with local students in the Sandwich schools

Sandwich Council on Aging, $500
To support its Caregiver Respite program

Sandwich Partnership for Families, $1000
To support safety repairs to playground equipment

The Fund’s Advisory Committee will continue to seek private donations to support the wide range of nonprofit organizations serving the Sandwich community and will conduct a sixth grantmaking process in 2022 to support additional organizations.
