Investment Strategy

The Cape Cod Foundation pools the charitable resources of hundreds of donors which provides the scale to implement a highly diversified investment strategy and the ability to access top performing investment managers across asset classes. The Foundation partners with the Institutional Investment Team at Bank of America (BofA) to serve as our Outside Investment Advisors.  BofA works in tandem with our volunteer Investment Committee under the guidance of the Foundation Board’s approved Investment Policy Statement.

Our investment strategy is designed to provide strong returns with moderate risk, growing charitable resources to amplify what can be granted to meet community needs and expand impact. Our portfolio routinely outperforms industry benchmarks and consistently ranks in the top quartile of comparable community foundations in the United States.

Investment Committee

The Foundation’s Board appoints the members and oversees the activity of the Investment Committee which operates within the guidelines established by the Investment Policy Statement. The Committee, drawing on deep experience and extensive relationships within the financial community, actively seeks to achieve intergenerational equity by maintaining and enhancing the purchasing power of the assets entrusted to its stewardship.
