What We Invest In: Student Success

The Foundation was established with a single $10,000 scholarship. Today, the Foundation and our partner, the Cape Cod Association, provide over $1.5 million in scholarships for local students pursuing many educational paths, emergency assistance for students experiencing urgent need, resources beyond scholarship dollars to help ensure postsecondary success, and grants to support educational programming and initiatives throughout the community.

pays the best interest.”

Annual Scholarship Program

The Cape Cod Foundation was established in 1989 with a single scholarship fund. Today, we administer more than 100 funds that provide over $1 million in annual scholarship support to students pursuing many educational paths.  In 2001, we partnered with the Cape Cod Association to increase our collective impact.  It is one of the oldest scholarship providers in New England, offering heritage-based scholarships to local students. Together, we provide over $1.5 million in annual scholarship support to Cape & Islands residents. LEARN MORE

Postsecondary Success Series

As part of The Cape Cod Foundation’s 35th Anniversary, we launched a Postsecondary Success Series to provide support for local students beyond scholarship dollars by connecting them to resources on important topics.  The series of webinars, conducted by industry experts, helps students understand the complex financial aid process and prepares them for other areas of success.  LEARN MORE

Student Emergency Financial Relief Program

The Cape Cod Foundation launched this pilot program in partnership with the Cape Cod Times Neighbors Fund in 2025 to provide additional resources to students in the community beyond scholarship dollars.  The Fund provides emergency financial assistance to students from Barnstable County who are enrolled in a postsecondary education program. Grants support immediate needs, such as food, housing, and medical and transportation costs. LEARN MORE
