The Chatham Fund Awards $40,000 in Grants to Nonprofit Organization Serving the Community

SOUTH YARMOUTH –The Chatham Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $40,000 in grants to nine nonprofit organizations serving the community during its Annual Grant Cycle.

“This year’s recipients are providing critical programs for at-risk youth, seniors, and Chatham resi-dents who are experiencing severe financial challenges,” said Henry Holden, Chair of The Chatham Fund. “They are also bringing enriching arts and educational programs and fun field trips to local children.”

The recipients are:

Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, $5,000
To provide free In-person Support Groups for dementia caregivers as part of their overall mission to support caregivers and patients.

Behavioral Health Innovators, $2,500
To support Positive Alternatives to School Suspension (PASS), a holistic approach to working with at-risk youth.

Chatham Orpheum Theater, $2,500
To support its work to make the arts accessible to all children and families in Chatham.

Colorful Kidz, Inc., $2,000
To support room makeovers for children in need, including those with serious medical conditions.

Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, $2,500
To support Meals-on-Wheels, a food delivery program which also provides well-being checks for Chatham residents.

Homeless Prevention Council, $7,500
To support the Personalized Case Management Program for Chatham residents. The goal of the program is to assist and empower individuals and families to attain financial independence and to preserve their housing. Because each individual and family comes to HPC facing their own unique set of circumstances, the team of case managers handles each case independently and holistically.

Lower Cape Outreach Council, $6,000
To support financial assistance for Chatham residents experiencing short- or long-term challenges with housing, fuel, or other expenses.

Monomoy Community Services, $9,500
To support outreach, services, and support for children and families as part of their Chatham Off-Season Emergency Relief Fund.

Pleasant Bay Community Boating, $2,500
To ensure accessibility to its 2024 School Programming: Chatham First Sail and Floating Classroom Field Trips.

Earlier this year, The Chatham Fund also awarded a $10,000 grant to the Family Pantry of Cape Cod to support increases in services. Since the fund was established in 2013 to build a permanent endowment for the town through private donations, it has awarded $443,845 in grants to nonprofit organizations enhancing the quality of life in the community.
