The Falmouth Fund Awards $100,000 in Grants
SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Falmouth Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $100,000 in grants to 30 nonprofit organizations whose vital programs benefit thousands of people across the Falmouth community.
“We recognize the enormous impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our families, friends, and neighbors — as well as the nonprofit organizations that support them,” said Sharon Nunes, Advisory Committee Chair. “We remain most impressed by the creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience that these nonprofit leaders have demonstrated to meet the challenges head-on.”
Nunes said The Falmouth Fund supports all areas of the Falmouth community: health and human services; education, youth and recreation; arts and culture; and the environment.
“We recognize that there will be additional challenges and opportunities and we remain committed to our ongoing collaboration to both support immediate needs and to participate in the rebuilding and recovery process,” added Nunes.
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, since 2010, we have invested more than $800,000 back into the Falmouth community,” said Nunes. “We are extremely grateful for their continued support.”
Kristin O’Malley, President and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation said The Falmouth Fund is demonstrating the collective impact of a Community Fund.
“Their long-term investment strategy allows them to effectively respond to emergent needs, like those caused by the pandemic, while still planning for the future. This is the power of a community, like Falmouth, coming together — and it’s both inspiring and important.”
