Grant Committee Volunteer
Matt was born and raised on Cape Cod. Like many before him, he left. Like many before him, he came back.

He earned his Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting at Villanova University and an Executive MBA at Boston University. He’s worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Philadelphia, where he earned his CPA license, and served as a CFO and CEO for three nonprofits. About ten years ago, he founded Boardwalk Business Group, which provides outsourced financial and operational supports to many nonprofit and for-profit businesses on the Cape, as well as remote services for businesses across the country.

Since returning to the Cape in his late 20s, he has served on many local Boards and committees.

“I was motivated to get involved with The Cape Cod Foundation because of the positive impact they have on so many nonprofits, communities, and individuals. The scope and scale of their impact is significant.”

Matt added, “I believe strongly in continuous improvement. Ask my 5th grade Sandwich girls travel basketball team what the term Kaizen means. Being on The Cape Cod Foundation Grant Committee has selfishly allowed me to improve by listening to and learning from the various committee members, The Cape Cod Foundation team members that we work with, and the nonprofits that have submitted proposals. In addition, seeing firsthand some of the exciting initiatives that various nonprofit organizations are working on is a tremendous highlight.”
