Scholarship Committee Volunteer
Amanda majored in French and Secondary Education and taught high school French for two years in Connecticut before relocating to the Cape. For the past ten years, she’s worked as a local Realtor and now serves as the Director of Housing Advocacy at the Community Development Partnership. She has also participated on the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee for about a decade.

“While I was teaching, I helped with scholarship award selection, so when I moved here, I looked for a similar way to give back to the community. Getting involved with The Cape Cod Foundation gave me an opportunity to understand the academic and life experiences of the people who lived here, in their own words. It also allowed me to familiarize myself with the myriad of nonprofit and charitable organizations that operate locally.”

She added, “I look forward to this process every year! Every applicant has a unique story and passion, and it makes me appreciate the depth of talent and potential that exists here. My favorite applicants are the adult learners who juggle work, life, and family obligations, and are still motivated to learn something new and pursue their dreams.”
