Our Impact: Vision 2020 Grants
In 2018, The Cape Cod Foundation launched a new initiative, Vision 2020, to raise new discretionary funds to significantly impact two areas of the Cape Cod community where the needs are the greatest, but the resources are not as strong as they could be: Youth Development and Nonprofit Capacity Building. 2019: SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT EXCEEDS $1 MILLION
The Cape Cod Foundation was established with a single scholarship fund in 1989. In 2019, the Foundation and our supporting organization, the Cape Cod Association, reached a milestone, awarding more than $1 million in scholarship support to 486 local students beginning or continuing higher education. The strength of our scholarship program is directly linked to our decision to deepen our commitment to Youth Development through the Vision 2020 initiative. Our goal is to help ensure young people have opportunities, resources, and mentors to help them excel at all stages of development to prepare them for higher education and other career opportunities upon graduation.

2017-2019: CAPE HOUSING PARTNERSHIP, $40,000
Our $40,000 multi-year investment in the Cape Housing Partnership Initiative helped drive social change through community education. The initiative, spearheaded by the Community Development Partnership and Housing Assistance Corporation, was designed to build community support for affordable housing by educating community leaders, creating residential advocates, and building community awareness about affordable housing development and management.
2019: EforAll CAPE COD AND CAPE COD YOUNG PROFESSIONALS, $10,000
The Foundation awarded a $10,000 joint grant to EforAll Cape Cod and Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) to support their ongoing partnership to strengthen the local economy and workforce through entrepreneurship. EforAll, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit, introduced its innovative small business/nonprofit accelerator program to Cape Cod in 2018. The program provides educational, mentoring, networking, and investment opportunities to aspiring and current entrepreneurs. CCYP was founded in 2006 to connect, engage, and advance the next generation of Cape Cod’s workforce and community leaders. Its ability to recruit and support participants and volunteers and market the EforAll program through established channels provides wrap-around support for the venture. PRESS RELEASE
2015-2020: INSTITUTE FOR NONPROFIT PRACTICE, $400,000
In 2015, The Cape Cod Foundation helped form its first-ever funder collaborative to bring an award-winning leadership development program from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice to the Cape and Islands. More than 70 local nonprofit leaders will have completed the program by the start of its fifth year in our region in September 2020. To date, we have invested more than $400,000 in pooled resources to offset tuition costs for participants. Because of our local funder collaborative and the Tomorrow Fund, an INP initiative, tuition for all students, including the Cape and Islands cohort, will be free for the 2020-2021 session. LEARN MORE
Together, we have invested more than $80 million in grants and scholarships in the Cape Cod Community. For good.
