GALE (Gay and Lesbian Equity) Fund

REQUESTS: $500 to $3,000

DESCRIPTION: The GALE Fund was established at The Cape Cod Foundation in 1998 to support projects and programs that improve the lives of LGBTQ individuals and their families. The goal of its grants program is to encourage informed, relevant, collaborative, and effective programming about LGBTQ issues, responding to the most pressing needs identified by the community. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The Fund seeks proposals that include, but are not limited to, activities and programs focusing on: Equal/Human/Civil Rights; Youth and Elders; Health Care; Arts and Culture; and Education. Advocacy for LGBTQ at-risk community members is a priority. Programs addressing LGBTQ immigration are also welcomed. Projects in which the people who are targeted in the proposal have a voice in the process, from conception and design to implementation and evaluation, receive special consideration.
